Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 2, 2026

Your privacy matters to us — especially since many of you come here as couples, sharing something personal like your names. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what information Names Combiner (namescombiner.us) collects, how we use it, and what choices you have.

By using our site, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. Who We Are

Names Combiner is a free website based in the United States that offers name-combining tools for couples, parents, gamers, content creators, and anyone who wants to blend names together. This policy applies to everyone who visits namescombiner.us, no matter where you are located, but it is written with our main audience — people in the United States — in mind.

2. Information We Collect

We try to collect as little as possible. Here is exactly what happens with different kinds of information on our site:

The Names You Type Into Our Tools

When you type names into our name-combining tools, that text is processed only to generate your results. We do not create accounts, we do not require sign-ups, and we do not permanently store the names or words you enter to combine.

Automatically Collected Information

Like most websites, our server and our third-party service providers automatically collect some technical information when you visit, such as:

  • Your approximate location (based on IP address, at a city or region level)
  • Your browser type and device type
  • The pages you visit and how long you stay on them
  • The website that referred you to us, if any
  • General usage patterns, such as which tools are used most often

This information does not usually identify you personally, and we use it only to understand how our site is used and to keep it running smoothly.

Information You Choose to Give Us

If you reach out to us through our Contact Us page, we will receive whatever information you include, such as your name, email address, and your message. We use this only to respond to you and to improve our site.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies (like pixels and local storage) to help our site function, understand how visitors use our tools, and support the advertising that keeps this site free. More detail is in Section 4 below.

3. How We Use Information

  • ✅ To run and operate our name-combining tools
  • ✅ To understand how visitors use our site, so we can improve it
  • ✅ To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, spam, or abuse
  • ✅ To respond to your messages when you contact us
  • ✅ To display advertising that helps keep our tools free for everyone

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for money. We also do not use the names you type into our tools for marketing purposes.

4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device that helps a website remember information about your visit. We use, and allow our partners to use, a few types of cookies:

Type of Cookie Purpose
Necessary Helps basic site features work correctly
Analytics Helps us understand how visitors use our tools, so we can improve them
Advertising Used by ad networks to show ads that are relevant to you, and to measure how ads perform

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Turning off cookies may affect how some parts of our site work, but you will still be able to use our core name-combining tools.

5. Advertising & Third-Party Partners

Names Combiner is free to use, and one of the ways we keep it that way is by showing ads through third-party advertising networks. These may include Google AdSense, Mediavine, and Ezoic, along with the advertising partners connected to those networks.

These companies may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your visits to this and other websites, in order to show you ads that are more relevant to your interests. This is often called "interest-based" or "personalized" advertising.

Google

Google is one of the advertising vendors that may serve ads on our site. You can learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services on Google's official information page. You can control the ads you see, or opt out of personalized advertising, by visiting your Google Ads Settings.

Mediavine and Ezoic

If our site works with Mediavine or Ezoic to manage advertising, these partners may also use first-party and third-party cookies to serve and measure ads, and may create anonymous audience segments for ad targeting purposes. You can find more information about interest-based advertising, and how to opt out of it, at the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.

General Ad Opt-Out

You can opt out of many companies' interest-based advertising at once through the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out page. Please note that opting out of personalized ads does not mean you will see fewer ads overall — it means the ads you see will be less tailored to your interests.

6. Analytics Tools

We may use analytics services, such as Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use our site. These tools collect information like pages visited, time spent on the site, and general location. This information is combined and reported in a way that does not typically identify you personally.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Names Combiner is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, in line with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

8. Your Privacy Rights

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you live in California, you may have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we and our advertising partners collect about you
  • Ask us to delete personal information we hold about you
  • Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information, which under California law can include certain cookie-based advertising
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights

To make a request or ask a question about your rights, please use our Contact Us page. You can also limit interest-based advertising at any time using the opt-out tools listed in Section 5.

Visitors From Outside the United States

If you are visiting from the European Union, United Kingdom, or another region with its own privacy laws, you may have additional rights, such as the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and the right to object to certain uses of it. You can exercise these rights by contacting us directly.

9. How Long We Keep Information

Names you type into our tools are used only to generate your results and are not stored long-term. Technical and analytics data collected through cookies is generally kept only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by our service providers. Messages sent through our contact page are kept only as long as needed to respond to you and keep a reasonable record of communication.

10. How We Protect Information

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to help protect the information we handle. However, no website or method of transmitting data over the internet is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. "Do Not Track" Signals

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. Because there is currently no common industry standard for how to respond to these signals, our site does not currently respond differently based on this browser setting. You can still manage your privacy using the cookie and ad opt-out tools described above.

12. Links to Other Websites

Our site may link to other tools, resources, or social media profiles. This Privacy Policy applies only to Names Combiner. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party website you visit through our links, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies separately.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our tools, our advertising partners, or the law. When we do, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page occasionally to stay informed.
